Jeff comes from a committed Church of Christ background. At the age of 9 he gave his life to Christ and was baptized for the forgiveness of his sins. As a teenager he studied to be a preacher under the tutelage of his pastor. For two years he ministered full-time as a minister. His journey to the Catholic Church began when he read a book entitled “Will the Real Heretics Please Stand Up”. Dr. Grier is an African American pro-life activist and non-fiction author. When Grier was a teenager she converted to Roman Catholicism. She graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University. In 1980 she heard a “persuasive, dynamic speech in defense of all human life from conception” by the Rev. Jesse Jackson and credits this speech with bringing her into the pro-life movement. In 1993 the New York City branch of the NAACP selected her to be the recipient of the Women’s History Month award, she refused it and membership because of the organization’s pro-choice stance on abortion. “As president of the Association of Black Catholics,” she wrote, “I believe abortion to be a racist weapon of genocide against black people.” Grier sits on the Board of Advisors of the Catholic League and is founder of Black Catholics Against Abortion. read more

While in Switzerland, he discovered the L’Abri community, of Francis Schaeffer, which began to open his heat God. After returning home, he discovered C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton and gave his life to Jesus Christ. He sensed that God was calling him to the pro-life cause. Through this he was introduced to the Catholic faith. Gail was brought in an Evangelical family. When she went off to college she got involved in the drug culture. Soon after they met a conversion of sorts began. About six months later they attended a conference with the Campus Crusade for Christ where they recommitted their lives to Christ. After marrying, he and his wife thought they should attend church for their three children. After several years he realized that he needed to become serious about his faith. For the first time he began to pray and study the Scriptures. It took him seven years before he professed his faith in Christ. He became an elder in his Presbyterian congregation. Moral issues, which began to arise in his denomination, forced him to seek new directions. For four years he searched for a new church home. He began to look at the Catholic Church through the influence of his daughter and son-in-law, who were also journeying Home to the Church. read more
