BALANCING ACT
Extremely out of balance.
May 13, 2020
TRANSCRIPT
You’ve heard it by now a thousand times: We have to balance medical concerns over the Wuhan pandemic against the concerns about how far we can go in maintaining a nearly completely dead economy.
But there is something suspicious — let’s just say it — about all the talking heads on the Left and their non-stop, wall-to-wall coverage of death and mayhem and COVID this and COVID that — as if the Wuhan virus is the only thing in the world. It’s bad of course, but it’s not the only bad.
Actually, it’s not at all. The response of too many bishops has been cowardly in the face of all this, not to mention opportunistic when it comes to a variety of issues whenever they reopen the churches. The approach of too many Marxists in the government likewise has simply been too opportunistic, literally trying to “cash in” on funding proposals meant to help save main street businesses.
The media heads that are all of a sudden so concerned about human life are beyond hypocritical and likewise are being opportunistic, gauging their reporting ever so closely — always considering just how far they can keep pushing the doom-and-gloom scenario.
On the one hand, they have to keep pushing it for a while, lest the economy begin to show signs of a comeback sufficiently to cause most Americans to think Trump will turn it around economically and he wins re-election. On the other hand, somewhere out there is a line that if crossed, no one will be able to bring us back from. In short, keep pushing sufficiently to ruin Trump, without pushing so much so as to ruin a Biden presidency’s chance to solve the problem.
How far should they go? When should the wall-to-wall coverage of daily death counts, hospitalizations and interviews about testing and tracking start to give way to a single ray of other news? It has to be a tough balancing act for a Marxist gang looking to exploit any possible advantage without crossing that line, because in short, no one really knows where that line is. The daily presidential tracking polls and job approvals have next to no consistency. The country keeps waffling between keeping the stay at home orders in place and going back to work.
Recent mental health professionals armed with their own models say if we’re much longer at this rate a new category of Wuhan deaths is going to have to be invented — COVID suicides, with some early projections being that the economic fallout will cause 175,000 Americans to kill themselves. So, how do you balance between death from catching COVID and deaths from having no more cash? It’s a serious question.
But since that angle might slow the march of the Marxist media because it suggests reopening might be the better way to go, thereby buoying the economy, thereby benefiting President Trump, the Marxist, Luciferian media has gone down that road.
And while it may not be a matter of life and death, physically anyway, an anxiety clash has been set up by various bishops around the nation with their tyrannical assertion that Holy Communion cannot be administered on the tongue — essentially thumbing their noses at the universal law of the Church, which says you always have a right to receive on the tongue. Note the word “always.”
And also note, the application is “universal,” which means no local bishop has the authority to override it, even right down to the preposterous tweet over the weekend put out by Knoxville bishop Richard Stika where he said any Catholic insisting on Communion on the tongue would get tossed out of the church and not allowed back in. There’s a model of charity.
He said personal piety needs to take a backseat, even though his own bishops’ conference said people should be able to receive on the tongue as well as medical evidence saying one method, hands or tongue, is no more dangerous than the other.
And with regard to the question of the Real Presence — a foundational dogma of the Church that 70% of Catholics don’t believe anyway — here’s a question: How is it possible that 7 out of every 10 American Catholics don’t believe in the Real Presence if all the bishops and priests do? That’s a massive disconnect. That is, if it’s true, which strong evidence would suggest it’s not:
- First, there’s that staggering 70% figure
- Second, there’s the unwillingness by the bishops to ever speak out about the constant sacrileges and scandals when pro-abortion politicians come forward to receive
- Third, there’s the non-stop parade of abuses and liturgical overreach in loads of parishes every Sunday, pre-Wuhan
- Fourth, there’s the pre-Wuhan attempt to crush reception on the tongue with no real excuse to begin with
- Fifth, there’s that staggering 70% figure
There’s simply no way that every last one of these men actually believes in the Real Presence — not the way they treat it. So we have a suggestion — a solution, really — that many of these men will probably enjoy. Here it is: The Church is taking “social distancing” seriously, even to the point of suggesting distributing Holy Communion in paper cups to passengers in cars.
But all current methods of distributing Communion require some degree of violating “social distancing” with ineffective attempts to “mitigate.” You have to come closer than six feet to someone no matter how hard you try. So bishops can order their clergy to mail unconsecrated hosts to Catholics before Mass. They, of course, must be in sanitized plastic bags and have been placed in the bags by those wearing gloves.
Then, at the consecration on the weekly livestream, or when we’re all back, everyone can hold high their individual hosts in plastic bags, which are then consecrated, and later opened and consumed when they self-administer and receive Holy Communion. No one has to ever touch the Host but the person himself. In fact, such a scene would be visually stunning — like a prayer meeting of one-arm amputees.
With the Communion wars thus settled, surely we can be equally imaginative with ways to hold virtual hands during the Our Father, or introduce a rite of the placing-on of the holy latex glove. The girl altar boys can distribute them with a pole to everyone with a facemask so we can exchange greetings at the sign of peace. “Novus” Ordo indeed!
This insanity has got to come to an end. It’s completely out of balance. Throwing people out of church — seriously?

FOUR PRO-LIFERS ARRESTED
MI abortion chamber in spotlight
May 13, 2020
Four pro-life activists were arrested in connection with a Red Rose Rescue conducted at the Heritage Women’s Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Red Rose Rescue is an organization using the tactic of going directly into abortion chambers unnannounced and speaking directly to women in the waiting room, waiting to abort their children — in effect, trespassing.
They give the women red roses, from which the effort gets its name.
When pro-lifers show up for a Red Rose Rescue, the mission is to rescue babies and their mothers, period. Nothing stands in the way.
Participants know they are responding to dire circumstances of imminent peril. The stakes are high.
“This is real, you know? The police officer said, ‘Don’t you know that there are homicides happening in this city?’ And I said, ‘Officer, what do you think is happening here?'”
Monica Miller, founder and director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, organized this Grand Rapids rescue. She’s been a warrior in the abortion wars for more than four decades and helped develop the Red Rose Rescue tactic.
The current pandemic, this time, caused a change in tactics. Participants did not go inside. Instead, they approached abortion-minded women in the parking lot, still trespassing.
As it turns out, talking with the moms before they are in the facility may actually be more effective than trying to talk with them in the waiting room.
But either way, the police are always going to be part of the mix. The Red Rose Rescue isn’t for the fainthearted.
As another car and another mom and her baby pull into the driveway, Miller calls out, “Who’s coming with me?”

DIY HOME ABORTIONS
Activists pushing to bring death home
May 13, 2020
Abortion is flourishing during the Wuhan flu panic, and while abortion mills are still operating, activists are going even further, trying to make home abortions the norm.
Fears of the virus are still keeping some women away from abortion mills, and the abortion industry is banking on telemedicine.
Current U.S. Food and Drug Administration rules demand the first abortion drug be administered in abortion facilities and the second taken at home 24 hours later.
It also stipulates the drug be supplied directly to health care providers who are certified to prescribe the drug product, be dispensed in certain health care settings and not be available in pharmacies or on the internet.
But an FDA research program, TelAbortion, started in 2015, is suspending abortion drug dispensation rules for participants, allowing women to obtain abortions through Planned Parenthood by video conferencing with an abortionist procuring abortion drugs through the mail.
Since June 2019, it’s expanded from five to 13 states, and with the Wuhan flu crisis gaining momentum, demand for home teleabortions has skyrocketed, doubling in March and April.
To address the growing demand, conservative U.S. senators in February introduced the Teleabortion Prevention Act of 2020, seeking to ban the practice on the grounds that no so-called health care provider is present.
But with abortion activists pushing the program — hoping it will be permanently implemented — the murder of unborn children will become even easier.

FREE MONEY FOR EVERYBODY
Pandemic handy for ‘universal basic income’ push
May 13, 2020
As the Wuhan virus pandemic continues, many on the Left are trying to capitalize on it.
The late Milton Friedman, who won a Nobel Prize in economic sciences, once said: “Only a crisis — actual or perceived — produces real change. … The actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around.”
Attempting to use the pandemic to reshape the world, the Left is pushing an old idea that’s been lying around for a while — universal basic income, a government program for periodic payments sent to everybody individually without means tests or work requirements.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: “Others have suggested a minimum income [for] — a guaranteed income for people. Is that worthy of attention now? Perhaps so.”
With headlines like “The Coronavirus Crisis Could Pave the Way to Universal Basic Income,” CNBC, The New York Times, Forbes, TIME magazine — leftist publications are helping Democrats promote the idea.
And the progressive push is not limited to the United States.
A senior official of the United Nations, Kanni Wignaraja, says: “The spread of COVID-19 has fundamentally shaken economies, and people are beginning to question existing economic models … [and that] it is so essential to bring back a conversation about universal basic income, and to make it a central part of the fiscal stimulus packages that countries are planning for.”
Spain’s economic minister, Nadia Calviño, says work is already being done in Spain to establish a permanent universal basic income:
I can assure you we are working to implement universal basic income as soon as possible; [it’s] not only effective for the exceptional transient circumstances of COVID-19 but to help in the future (forever) — a structured instrument, a lasting tool!”
Onboard with globalists worldwide, Pope Francis wrote in a letter on Easter Sunday:
I know that you have been excluded from the benefits of globalization. … Street vendors, recyclers, carnies … you have no steady income to get you through this hard time … and the lockdowns are becoming unbearable. This may be the time to consider a universal basic wage which would acknowledge and dignify the noble, essential tasks you carry out.”
Some, like Michael Hichborn of Lepanto Institute, think universal basic income is a terrible idea: “The very idea of a universal basic income is nothing but the Marxist dream of wealth redistribution, which is more famously lampooned in St. Thomas More’s work called ‘Utopia.'”
While the idea is being attempted right now in Brazil, Hichborn is confident the effort will fail: “Unless the United States and every other country out there in the world wants to go the way of Venezuela and ever other failed socialist regime, then the idea of a universal basic income must be buried forever!”
Non-Marxist nations have always panned basic universal income as one of those ideas that looks good on paper, but in practice, is a dismal failure — a cure worse than the disease.

GOP FEARS SENATE LOSS
Republicans risk losing majority in Senate
May 13, 2020
The Republican majority in the U.S. Senate is in jeopardy amid the Wuhan crisis.
Despite Republicans holding a 53–47 majority in the Senate, fundraising reports from the first three months of 2020 show Senate Republicans falling victim to an enthusiasm gap among donors, a traditional barometer of election outcomes.
Top GOP strategist Josh Holmes said, “the Senate is absolutely at risk of going Democratic,” arguing that, “Democrats are still way ahead when it comes to digital fundraising. It will get worse. It will get a lot worse, because there is no easy way to play catch-up.”
The reports argue this is due to Democrats’ successful online fundraising campaigns — campaigns Republicans are unable to focus on because they are devoting time they would normally spend fundraising on ending lockdowns and solving the public health crisis.
The fundraising gap builds high hopes for Democrats intending to flip the four seats they need to win the majority.
The GOP seats in danger include Sen. Susan Collins in Maine, Sen. Steve Daines in Montana, Sen. Thom Tillis in North Carolina and Sen. Cory Gardner in Colorado.
As of now, only one Democratic seat, held by Sen. Doug Jones in Alabama, is likely to flip to Republicans.
Republican election experts are calling the 2020 race a referendum on President Trump and his handling of the pandemic.
GOP strategist Alex Conant said, “Now, no one knows what the world is going to look like in six months. How Trump handles the crisis will determine the outcome.”
As the pandemic continues, fears increase. Republicans in the Senate, as well as President Trump, are at risk of losing come election day in November — losses with enormous consequences.
