September 26, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — In a recent interview with journalist Edward Pentin, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said his country wants to “preserve Europe as a Christian Europe” and that they would like Hungary to remain a “Christian nation.”

Speaking about immigration, Szijjártó told the veteran reporter, “We are sure that this migratory crisis endangers the Christian heritage of Europe.”

Such remarks stand in stark contrast to those Pope Francis has made.

In his 2016 acceptance speech for the Charlemagne Prize, an award given to those who help bring about European “unification,” Pope Francis said, “I dream of a new European humanism” where “being a migrant is not a crime.”

Francis repeated his “dream” a year later while addressing 27 European heads of state at the Vatican. “As leaders, you are called to blaze the path of a new European humanism made up of ideals and concrete actions,” he said.

In 2014, he called on European Parliament to rediscover its memory, its courage, and “a sound and humane utopian vision.”

The future Pope Francis wants for Europe and the future Mr. Szijjártó’s country wants for Europe couldn’t be more different. The continent now faces, as Ronald Reagan once said in 1964, a “time for choosing.”

Europe at a crossroads

As it stands currently, Hungary, Poland, and a few other courageous nations are resisting the international left’s efforts to tear asunder their Christian identity by opening their borders, flooding them with mass migration, and imposing on them homosexuality, secularism, and feminism.

Fortunately, some Churchmen recognize these orchestrated attacks for what they are. Bishop Athanasius Schneider told an Italian newspaper in July that there is a “long-prepared plan by international powers to radically change the Christian and national identities of the European peoples.”

There also exists in Europe the likes of Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron, and George Soros, globalists who want Europe’s identity wrapped up in ethnic and religious “diversity,” the gay agenda, socialism, abortion on demand, radical environmentalism, and so on.

But even the Dalai Lama, who supports same-sex “marriage,” believes concerns with immigration aren’t unfounded.

At a conference in Sweden two weeks ago, the Tibetan octogenarian told his audience that “Europe belongs to the Europeans” and that refugees should return to their native lands to begin the rebuilding process.

Germany “cannot become an Arab country,” he correctly observes. “Germany is Germany.”

Christ would surely agree. His family, after fleeing into Egypt for a brief while, returned to Nazareth. They didn’t stay and receive subsidized housing.

The path forward

The battle between secular EU technocrats and Christian nationalists has reached a boiling point.

Hungary is being threatened with severe sanctions by the European Union that may force it to recognize homosexual “marriage” and accept Muslim immigrants.

Likewise, Poland has faced strong opposition from the EU for trying to ensure their country upholds Christian values. Its parliament is currently in the beginning stages of instituting a new holiday commemorating the Christianization of their country in the 10th century.

In the midst of this titanic battle for the heart and soul of Europe lies Rome.

Historically, popes have defended the rights of sovereign nations and encouraged, as Pope Benedict did, Europe to recognize its dependence on God.

But not Francis.

Sure, in 2015 the pope called for a “Christian humanism” – a vague, ambiguous, and ultimately self-contradictory concept if there ever was one. But his disdain for “populism,” his embrace of population control activists, and his support for radical environmentalism and open borders have aligned him more closely with the agenda of the international left than with the God-fearing leaders of Hungary and Poland.

Multiculturalism undermines Christianity

At the heart of the Gospel according to Francis is a phrase His Holiness invokes quite frequently — “unity in diversity.”

It just so happens that “unity in diversity” is the official motto of the European Union.

But unity in diversity, code for multiculturalism, is a farce. Yes, as St. Thomas Aquinas said, God created variety among his creatures. But it is through Jesus Christ that we overcome our natural differences and become one supernaturally. The EU wants to “unite” us not in this way but under a naturalistic new age Tower of Babel where God is denied his rightful place among the nations.

Cultures can and should be judged according to their embrace or rejection of Christianity. If they lack the true faith, proselytism is needed. The reason why is obvious. Other than saving souls from eternal damnation, Christianity has the secondary effect of elevating the social norms, art, music, literature, architecture, etiquette, and the entirety of a nation’s public life.

Islam does not bring anything of objective spiritual value to Europe. Christianity there will not be enriched by dialoguing with it. If Europe doesn’t soon realize this, she may soon find herself damaged beyond repair.

Former British Prime Minister David Cameron appeared to grasp this when, in 2011, he admitted “state multiculturalism” had failed. Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy echoed the same sentiments less than a month later.

Politicians and clergymen who believe a hodgepodge of religiously diverse peoples will lead to a thriving, flourishing Europe are gravely mistaken.

As Peter Kwasniewski argued in an essay for LifeSiteNews recently, a religiously “neutral” public square inevitably turns into an anti-Christian one. Why? Because Christ himself said without Him we can do nothing. No nation, in other words, can stand on its own two feet for long if it publicly refuses to recognize Christ as its King.

Viktor Orbán knows this. Pope Francis doesn’t.

What’s next?

In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima spoke about an “annihilation of nations.” Many believed this to be a reference to Communism and atomic warfare.

Could it also have been a reference to the “annihilation” of the Christian identity of European nations in the 21st century? Could it have been a warning about the promotion of multiculturalism and “unity in diversity” in historically Christian lands?

Certainly.

It’s fairly certain that the Vatican will not put an end to this anytime soon.

The Pope could not be clearer in his remarks to European leaders. He’s not interested in urging them to embrace Christianity. Rather, his actions and words indicate he wants them to accept a lowest-common-denominator, syncretistic, humanistic religion that, at the end of the day, is not that dissimilar from the one the global ruling class seeks to impose.

Consider also that the current Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the rumored front-runner to succeed Pope Francis, has been palling around with and spouting the same talking points as the architects of the godless new world order.

Just this year he visited the shadowy Bilderberg gathering. In 2017, he spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In 2016, during an address at the United Nations, he expressed consternation about European countries that aren’t welcoming migrants.

If elected as the next pope, Parolin will undoubtedly keep the Catholic Church as a cog in the globalists’ machinery.

Hungary and Poland have laid out their vision for the future of Europe. Pope Francis has laid out his. Let’s pray that the Holy Father joins those countries, and, like his predecessors, takes up the cause of defending Christianity in Europe against Islamic invaders once again. As unlikely as that sounds, miracles do happen.

HUNGARIAN PRIME MINISTER: EUROPE SILENT ON CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION – Viktor Orbán speaks at 2nd Int’l Conference on Christian Persecution

by Bradley Eli, M.Div., Ma.Th.  •  ChurchMilitant.com  •  November 26, 2019

BUDAPEST (ChurchMilitant.com) – Speakers at Hungary’s 2nd International Conference on Christian Persecution are calling out Europe for silently witnessing the persecution of millions of Christians and doing little to help.

At the opening of the three-day conference in Budapest on Tuesday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán observed that 80% of religious persecution worldwide targets Christians, while Europe’s Christian politicians quietly stand by.

“Four out of five people persecuted for their faith are Christians,” said Orbán, “and over and over Europe remains silent.”

“A mysterious force shuts the mouths of European politicians and cripples their arms,” he added. “Christians are not allowed to be mentioned on their own, only together with other groups that are being persecuted for their faiths.”

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó backed up Orbán with likeminded observations.

During the conference, Sziijártó remarked, “Whenever I try to raise the topic of persecuted Christians in EU minister’s meetings everybody says: Peter, better say ‘religious minorities.’ Well I WANT to say ‘persecuted Christians.’”

Eduard Habsburg, Hungarian Ambassador to the Holy See, told Church Militant the media’s coverage of the conference is needed because Europe won’t speak up for persecuted Christians.

“I can feel a very strong echo in the media,” he commented. “And this is very important because the voices who call out about the persecution of Christians are still feeble voices in a resounding silence in most of Europe.”

He still struggles to grasp how so many people can remain silent while millions of fellow Christians are being persecuted for the same faith.

“I ask myself why people suddenly turn quiet when you begin to speak about the plight of Christians all over the world,” Habsburg continued. “I think it is an unpleasant reality that out of 10 people who are persecuted for their faith, eight are Christians.”

A mysterious force shuts the mouths of European politicians.

The problem of Christian persecution is massive, according to the U.S. Department of State (DOS). The DOS posted an intervention by Hungary in July which estimated some “245 million Christians are being persecuted all over the world.”

Habsburg favorably compared the current conference with the first conference on Christian persecution hosted by Hungary in 2017.

“I am very impressed by the strong atmosphere at this conference; the number of participants has doubled since two years ago,” he noted.

He also sees signs of hope:

In Hungary three years ago I had decided to do something about it and we are very happy to report that other countries like the United States are strong voices against discrimination of religion. And also in Europe, other countries are waking up to the cries of our persecuted brethren.

During the conference, Orbán revealed two motives for aiding persecuted Christians.

He first sees it as an obligation of justice to protect such people from harm.

“Hungarians believe Christian values lead to peace and happiness and this is why our Consitution states that protection of Christianity is an obligation for the Hungarian state, it obligates us to protect Christian communities throughout the world suffering persecution,” he recalled.

His second motive centers on the preservation of Hungary itself. He sees Hungary’s future closely tied to the fate of persecuted Christians.

“I’m convinced that in order to save Europe, those who could provide us with the biggest help are those whom we’re helping right now,” said Orbán. “We’re sowing a seed, giving the persecuted what they need and getting back from them the Christian faith, love and persistence.”

He believes Christian culture is absolutely necessary for the survival of his country and other European nations.

Europe can only be saved, he observed, if it “returns to the source of its real values: its Christian identity.”

He then put the physical violence directed at Christians within the context of attacks made on Christian culture at large.

“It’s not just the people and the communities but also the culture as a whole that is being subjected to an organized and comprehensive attack,” he emphasized. “Even in the land of our culture, our civilization, the most successful Christian civilization to date: Europe.”

These attacks are being carried out through “the replacement of the population, immigration, stigmatization, insults and the muzzle of political correctness,” he noted.

Several other high-profile speakers addressed the conference, including bishops: Bp. Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic diocese of Sokoto, Nigeria; Mar Gewargis III, Catholic Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East; Cdl. Péter Erdő, Primate of Hungary and archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest; and Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and All the East.

Many warnings concerning the escalating violence in Syria went unheeded, the Orthodox patriarch recalled.

“After five years of sounding alarm, our cries haven’t been heard by many, few tangible steps taken to counter this real threat to our existence as indigenous people in [the] land of our forefathers,” he said.

Hungary seeks allies against Christian persecution with political and religious leaders

Nov 26,2019

Some 650 people from 40 countries are participating in an international conference on Christian persecution, organized by the Hungarian government in Budapest.

According to their data, every day 11 Christians are killed for religious reasons. It is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. Globally, there are 245 million persecuted Christians, which makes Christianity the most-harassed religion on the planet.

The conference was opened by Prime Minister Viktor Orban in front of religious leaders and experts from all continents.

The Hungarian prime minister said the persecution against Christians is an organized attack, which not only occurs in Africa and the Middle East. He explained that throughout the West the Christian culture is attacked, with mockery, humiliation and politically correctness.

He added, if Christian values are not protected in Europe, in the future Christians will be persecuted in the West, like they are in Syria or Iraq.

Budapest Cardinal Peter Erdö pointed out that the persecution is not only religious, but anti-colonial and anti-West. He thanked the efforts of those who help expelled Christians return to their homeland.

Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II of the Syrian Orthodox Church recalled the dramatic situation of Christians in Iraq.

IGNATIUS APHREM II
Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and All the East
“In all these cases and many others, Christians were given one of three choices to make: either to convert to Islam, pay the tax or leave, otherwise they would be killed. Many of them have chosen to leave. Not only in the areas where the terrorist areas and armed groups exist, but throughout the country. Our estimation is that more than 90 percent of Christian have already left Iraq and almost 50 percent of Christians in Syria have left the country.”

Lebanon’s foreign minister is also in attendance. He warned of the danger of Islamophobia, as it weakens exponents of moderate Islam, and radicalizes those who suffer its consequences.

GEBRAN BASSIL
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants (Lebanon)
“We were to blame as well, through our Western culture and our ability to integrate. We express our objection toward Islamophobia, considering it as a danger of the genuine and tolerant Islam, as well as a danger on the secular West. As a result of this fear, islamophobia is a rise of the extremism in the West that will lead to more extremism in the East.”

The congress hopes to put political and social leaders in contact, while rebuilding the Christian communities in the Middle East and in Africa, where they suffer the most attacks.

Hungary leads by example and has a state secretariat fully dedicated to helping persecuted Christians. Its head, Tristan Azbej, is this meeting’s organizer.

His department already works in seven countries in the Middle East and Africa. In Syria and Iraq, he has rebuilt hospitals and schools, as open places for people of every religion.

The International Conference on Persecuted Christians will continue in Budapest until Thursday.

CHURCH in CRISIS: World’s Catholics Resist Pope to His Face

Nov 20,2019

From Rome, Michael Matt writes an Open Letter to Pope Francis explaining to him why faithful Catholics the world over are resisting this radically leftist pope to his face. So, here we go again — the Church’s largest charitable organization, Caritas Internationalis finds itself embroiled in another McCarrick-esque sex abuse scandal. CNN just dug up the fact that the head of the international Catholic charity’s African branch, Salesian Father Luk Delft—a notorious convicted sex offender–was nevertheless promoted to the prominent Caritas position. Cardinal Luis Tagle — President of Caritas and popular choice for successor to Pope Francis — was informed of the Delft situation back in 2017, but elected to presume somebody else would take care of it. Since then, Delft is accused of abusing still more children. Whoops. So much for last year’s Vatican Clerical Sexual Abuse Summit. Michael Matt asks the question: How much more scandal will Francis Church orchestrate before the Catholic people wake up? If the CEO of any company were this negligent, he would be run out of town on a rail. So, why not the cats running the Vatican? And, by the way, what in the world is with Pope Francis the Politician’s Leftist connections? The man is so in bed with the Left he could be Bernie Sanders’ running mate, for Pete’s sake. In fact, Francis’s right-hand man, Bishop Sorondo, invited Bernie to speak at the Vatican a few years back. No wonder they all hate Trump! Finally, brand-new video of pro-abort Jeff Sachs hosting a Sustainable Development Goals UN youth symposium in the Vatican during the Amazon Synod. You can’t make this stuff up. Forget Francis the False Prophet of Revelation. Let’s look at Francis the political hack. What if Francis is a just a radical politician whose job is to run the Catholic Church into the ground in order to make room for the New World Order? Please Help Us Build Remnant TV! Pope Francis says Pachamamas Retrieved from Tiber River – Taylor Struggles and Reflects (#323)

The Statuette Worshipped in Vatican Was the Demon Pachamama – Amazonian Bishop

It was indeed the pagan goddess Pachamama that “was worshipped in the Vatican,” said Spanish-born Bishop José Luís Azcona Hermoso, 79, in a lengthy October 16 homily in the Cathedral of Belem (video).

A former Marajó bishop, Azcona compares Pachamama or Mother Earth with the Anatolian idol Cybele (Roman: Magna Mater) and the Babylonian Astarte, both expressing the female fertility.

According to Azcona, the prostrations in front of Pachamama, even performed by religious, in the Vatican Gardens constitute an “invocation of the mythical power of Mother Earth”. Azcona qualifies this as “demonic sacrileges” producing scandal “especially for the little ones”.

He called it “a lie” to claim that the statue represents Our Lady, “We do not make syncretistic mixtures.”
