The Woman I Love, the Blessed Virgin Mary by Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Published on Jan 1, 2013

Venerable Fulton Sheen speaks about Our Blessed Mother. He has a great book entitled “the World’s First Love” which is on Our Lady http://www.amazon.com/The-Worlds-Firs…

This video presentations show about the Woman we love, Our Lady of the Blessed Virgin Mary. “She is acknowledged and honored as being truly the mother of God and of the redeemer…. She is clearly the mother of the members of Christ … since she has by her charity joined in bringing about the birth of believers in the Church, who are members of its head. Mary, Mother of Christ, Mother of the Church” (CCC:963).

Mary’s prayer is revealed to us at the dawning of the fullness of time. Before the incarnation of the Son of God, and before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, her prayer cooperates in a unique way with the Father’s plan of loving kindness: at the Annunciation, for Christ’s conception; at Pentecost, for the formation of the Church, his body (cf. Lk 1:38; Acts 1:14). In the faith of his humble handmaid, the Gift of God found the acceptance he had awaited from the beginning of time. She whom the Almighty made “full of grace” responds by offering her whole being: “Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word” “Fiat”: this is Christian prayer: to be wholly God’s, because he is wholly ours. The Gospel reveals to us how Mary prays and intercedes in faith. At Cana, the mother of Jesus asks her son for the needs of a wedding feast (Jn 2:1-12); this is the sign of another feast – that of the wedding of the Lamb where he gives his body and blood at the request of the Church, his Bride. It is at the hour of the New Covenant, at the foot of the cross (cf. Jn 19:25-27), that Mary is heard as the Woman, the new Eve, the true “Mother of all the living” (CCC: 2617-2618).

Revelation 12: Who is the woman clothed with the sun?

Published on Aug 31, 2012

http://www.SecretInfoClub.com The book of Revelation contains a passage in which St. John sees a great sign in the sky. He wrote:

“And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

“She brought forth a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne” [Rev. 12:1, 5].

Who is this mysterious Woman clothed in the sun?

In the following video, we explore that question and look at different theories that have been proposed.

In particular, we look at the view advanced by Pope Benedict XVI, both in his personal writing and in his teaching as pope.

Pope Francis’ ANGELUS: On the Feast of the Assumption

“Our lives, seen in the light Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, is not a wandering without meaning, but a pilgrimage that, with all its uncertainties and sufferings, has a sure destination: the house of Our Father.”

By Staff Reporter

Vatican City, August 16, 2015 (ZENIT.org)

Below is a translation of Pope Francis’ address before and after the recitation of the Angelus prayer yesterday at noon to the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary:

***

Dear brothers and sisters, good morning and Happy Feast of Our Lady.

Today the Church celebrates one of the most important feasts dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary: the Feast of Her Assumption. At the conclusion of Her earthly life, the Mother of Christ was raised in soul and body to Heaven, that is, in the glory of eternal life, in the full communion with God.

Today’s Gospel (Lk. 1, 39-56) presents us to Mary who, immediately after having conceived Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, went to see her elderly cousin Elizabeth, who also miraculously awaits a son. In this meeting full of the Holy Spirit, Mary expresses Her joy with the canticle of Magnificat, because She has fully realized the meaning of the great things that are happening in Her life: through Her the expectation of Her people is fulfilled.

But the Gospel also shows us what is the true reason Mary’s greatness and blessedness: the reason is faith. In fact, Elizabeth greets Her with these words: “Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled” (Lk. 1,45). Faith is the heart of the whole history of Mary; She is the believer, the great believer; she knows – and says – that the violence of the mighty, the pride of the rich, the hubris of the arrogant weighs down in history. Still, Mary believes and proclaims that God does not abandon His humble and poor children, but helps them with mercy, with care, overthrowing the mighty from their thrones, scattering the proud from the plots in their hearts. This is the faith of Our Mother; this is the faith of Mary!

The Canticle of Our Lady also lets us sense the full meaning of the story of Mary: if the mercy of the Lord is the motor of history, then He could not “allow Her who generated the Lord of life to know the corruption of the sepulchre” (Preface). All this is not only about Mary. The “great things” done in Her by the Almighty profoundly touches us, it speaks of our journey in life, it reminds us of the destination that awaits us: the house of the Father. Our lives, seen in the light Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, is not a wandering without meaning, but a pilgrimage that, with all its uncertainties and sufferings, has a sure destination: the house of Our Father, who awaits us with love. It is beautiful to think of this: that we have a Father who awaits us with love, and that also our Mother Mary is there and She awaits us with love.

Meanwhile, as life goes on, God shines “for his people, a pilgrim on earth, a sign of consolation and of assured hope” (ibid.). That sign has a face, that sign has a name: the luminous face of the Mother of the Lord, the blessed name of Mary, the one full of grace, because She believed in the word of the Lord: the great believer! As members of the Church, we are destined to share the glory of our Mother, so that, thanks to God, we too may believe in the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross and, through Baptism, we are inserted into this mystery of salvation.

Today all together we pray, so that, while our path on this earth unfolds, She May turn to us Ger merciful eyes, that She clear for us the way, that She show us the destination, and that She shows us after this exile Jesus, the blessed fruit of Her womb: And together we say: Oh clement, oh loving, oh sweet Virgin Mary!

The Simple Request: A Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart

The downfall of Christian Czarist Russia, its destruction-by and conversion-to an atheistic globalist, elitist, communist sewer was the focus of a simple request made by the Mother of God. This happened decades before the testimony of Bella Dodd. According to Sister Lucia, Our Lady declared on July 13, 1917:

“You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them God wants to establish throughout the world the devotion to My Immaculate Heart. If people will do what I tell you, many souls will be saved, and there will be peace. The war is going to end. But if they do not stop offending God, another and worse war will break out in the reign of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that it is the great sign that God gives you, that He is going to punish the world for its crimes by means of war, hunger, persecution of the Church and of the Holy Father. To forestall this, I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If they heed My requests, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace. If not, she shall spread her errors throughout the world, promoting wars and persecutions of the Church; the good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated; in the end, My Immaculate Heart shall triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, which will be converted, and some time of peace will be given to the world.”

Not only has the consecration of Russia to Our Lady’s immaculate heart, per Her specific instruction, not occurred but the Church has fallen into a “torrent of lies” about its failure to do so.

Our Lady in the Modern World

Our Lady is truly brave. Michael Voris speaks to an audience in New Zealand 2013.

3 Ways to Defend Immaculate Conception from Bible (plus Aquinas Video)

3 Ways to Defend the Immaculate Conception from Scripture:

Is the Immaculate Conception Biblical?

Immaculate ConceptionYes, but only if you accept typology as a valid interpretation of Scriptural texts (i.e. a method used by the Apostles and Fathers to interpret Old Testament people, things, and events as types foreshadowing New Covenant realities).

Below are three common arguments used by the early Church Fathers, the Popes, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church to justify Mary’s title as the Panagia or “All-Holy.” The first is straight-forward, the latter two rely on typology.

Argument #1 Mary is Full of Grace

Luke 1:28: “And he came to her and said, ‘Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!’”

The term traditionally translated “full of grace” or “highly favored” is κεχαριτωμένη or kecharitomene. This “perfect passive participle form” (Even if you never study Greek, memorize what I have placed into quotes. Burn it into your memory) denotes something that happened in the past and continues into the present. She was perfectly graced in the past and continues in that state. Luke 1:28 has served as the locus classicus for the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady.

When a Protestant fronts you on this, just keep the broken record approach by repeating “perfect passive participle of kecharitomene” until the Protestant grabs your Rosary beads and start praying it aloud. Works every time.

Argument #2 Mary as New Eve Having Enmity with Satan

Gen 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall crush your head, and you shall strike at His heel.”

screen-shot-2016-12-08-at-2-56-23-pm

In this verse God addresses Satan. The Seed here is Christ. The Woman is His Mother, that is, Mary. Thus Satan has perfect enmity with Christ and with His Mother. The Catholic Church has interpreted this as indicating the sinlessness of Christ and Mary. If either actually committed sin, then they would not be at enmity with Satan but actually a cooperator with Satan at times.

If you want to know more about the Hebrew debate over whether “he” or “she” crushes the head of Satan, read my post on it here: Does Mary or Jesus crush Satan’s head in Gen 3:15?

Argument #3 Mary as Ark of the Covenant

In the Old Covenant the Ark of the Covenant contained the Word of God on stone. In the New Covenant, the Word made Flesh was also contained – and that in the womb of the Blessed Virgin. The Catholic Church has therefore understood Mary as the mystical Ark of the New Covenant. This connection is made in the book of Revelation.

Rev 11:19-12:2 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, voices, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail. And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child.

The Ark of the Covenant appears in Heaven and then in the next breath (and next verse) St John describes a pregnant woman appearing in Heaven. This Woman “contains” the Messiah.

The thinking goes that if Mary is the fulfillment of the Ark of the Covenant, then she must be “all holy”. Remember that in the Old Covenant a man was killed for touching the ark. It was holy. If the box that held stone tablets was so restricted – so also would be the woman who actually carried God Himself. And so she is all pure and all holy, without the stain of sin.

In review:

  1. Luke 1:28 “perfect passive participle of kecharitomene,” rinse and repeat
  2. Gen 3:15 “Why does Satan have a perfect “enmity” with a woman and who is she?
  3. Rev 11-12 Mark as New Ark of New Covenant

5 Facts to Ignore Before Accusing Catholics of Mary’s Worship

Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her (Lk 1:38).

How to face the things that are coming?

“Let us have confident recourse to the protection of Mary. Before showing how confidently we can trust in the patronage of the Blessed Virgin, it will be well to consider our destination and our pitiful situation. It is unfortunate to have enemies; however, it is certainly more dangerous to have them but not know them. It will help us therefore to identify our enemies.

“We are human; we are sinful. As human beings, hell is our enemy; as sinners, heaven is our enemy. The devil unjustly wants us damned; God justly want us punished. Thus we have heaven and hell against us and we are in the middle, exposed to both the wrath of God and the cunning of the devil. How can we protect ourselves from two opponents as powerful as these?

“Do no worry, my brothers and sisters. In Mary, we have a defender against the anger of heaven and the fury of hell. She can disarm the justice of God and defeat the designs of the devil. She frightens the enemy of our souls, for she is as strong as an army prepared for battle. She is that sturdy tower which no enemy can storm; a thousand bucklers hang upon it, all shields of valiant men. This armament is for our defense and the overthrow of our enemies. To be safe, we need only retreat to this tower and remain in it. If we have any further fear, let it be the fear of alienating ourselves from Mary and her protection. Let us then be confident and fear nothing. Yet I hear someone object: we must dread not only the fury of the devil, but also the just anger of God who is, unfortunately, too often seriously provoked by our sins. This is what terrifies us; this is what makes us falter. It is true that good people have Mary as a protector in every crisis of life; but we are not good, we are sinners. God is vexed with us. Who can deliver us from him? No one can resist the Almighty. If he wants to punish us because of our sins, who can prevent him? Mary can by her intercession. She has more influence with God than the whole company of saints in heaven….

“The grace we lost by sin, Mary found. She did not find grace lost by herself, because she never lost it. It was the grace we had lost that she found. Let us search for that lost grace; let us search for it through Mary. She always finds what she is looking for and can never look in vain. Mary’s quests are never fruitless; neither will ours be if we seek our lost grace through her” (Source: Blessed Dominic of the Mother of God, +1849 A.D., Magnificat, Vol. 17, No. 3, May 2015, pp. 172-173).

The woman I love, the Blessed Virgin Mary by Venerable Fulton Sheen
